GORDON BROWN UPDATE 2025-2026
Monday 18th May 2026 - The children have arrived safely and have already settled in after an exciting first day at the Centre. They enjoyed a guided tour to help them get familiar with their surroundings and after their first delicious meal at Gordon Brown, they are full of enthusiasm and ready for a fantastic week of fun filled activities.
One of the highlights of the day has definitely been meeting the animals, which the children absolutely adore. There were plenty of smiles, excitement and happy faces all around as they got to know their new furry friends.
Tonight’s big adventure is the night walk, where the children will have the chance to explore and experience the outdoors in a whole new way. We are sure it will be a memorable evening for everyone.

Tuesday 19th May 2026 - After the excitement of the night walk yesterday evening, the children enjoyed a lovely first night’s sleep. Bright and early this morning, they woke up full of energy and ready to begin the second day of their adventure!
Today, the children split into groups to take part in different activities. Some were aiming for gold in archery, showing off their focus and determination. Whilst others teamed up with their friends to tackle the blindfold trail, guided through the challenge with plenty of teamwork, trust and laughter along the way.
Later today, the children will be putting their survival skills to the test with fire building and outdoor cooking. An exciting activity that is always a big hit and sure to create plenty of memorable moments.
This evening brings quiz night, and if today’s energy is anything to go by, we are expecting a fiercely competitive battle! It’s set to be a brilliant end to another fantastic day of adventure.

Wednesday 20th May 2026 - After another fantastic day at the Centre, even more exciting activities were on the horizon! This morning, the children took turns tackling the low ropes and trim trails, showing great teamwork, determination and plenty of adventurous spirit along the way.
There was also a lovely surprise visit from Ms Lago, who joined the children just in time for lunch and this afternoon’s action-packed activity of laser tag. The children are having an absolute blast, ducking and diving through the woods as they battle it out to see who will be the last person standing.
After such a busy and energetic day, tonight is all about relaxing this evening a movie. We are sure there will be lots of laughter, cosy blankets and of course, plenty of popcorn to go around.

Thursday 21st May 2026 - It’s the final full day at the Gordon Brown Centre, and the excitement is still going strong! Today’s activities include the infamous climb, where the children will put their fears aside, show incredible bravery and take the plunge from some impressive heights. It’s always a challenge that brings out courage, determination and lots of cheering from friends below.
A brand new activity introduced this year is the mysterious Alien Attack Mission and we can’t wait to find out what surprises and challenges are in store for our courageous adventurers.
To round off their final evening, the children will gather around the campfire to reflect on all the amazing memories they have made during their stay. We are sure there will be plenty of singing, dancing and unforgettable moments shared under the evening sky. It's the perfect way to end a fantastic adventure at the Centre.

Friday 22nd May 2026 - As the children’s time at the Gordon Brown Centre comes to an end, they are enjoying one last wander around the site, soaking up the sunshine and reflecting on the unforgettable memories they have made together, memories they will cherish for many years to come.
The children would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at the Centre for making their stay such a fun, exciting and memorable experience. From the thrilling activities to the evenings filled with laughter, it has truly been an adventure to remember.
The children have now boarded the coach and are heading back to school, full of stories to share and excited to see their loved ones again after an incredible week away.
