Enhancing Lunchtimes for All Pupils

​We are delighted to share some exciting improvements to our lunchtime provision.

 

This term, we have launched a new lunchtime programme designed to help children develop positive play skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, mentoring and inclusion. Through structured activities and support from adults, pupils are learning how to play cooperatively, encourage one another and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to join in.

 

To improve safety and reduce congestion in the playground, we have introduced staggered lunch times:

 

• Year 3 and Year 4: 12:00pm – 1:00pm

• Year 5 and Year 6: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

 

These changes have created more space for children to play and interact safely. We have also increased adult supervision across the playground, with staff wearing high-visibility vests to ensure they are easily identifiable and available to support pupils.

 

In addition, we will be investing in new playground equipment to further enhance children's play experiences and encourage active, engaging lunchtimes.

 

The response from pupils has been extremely positive. Children are enjoying the additional space, new opportunities for play and the supportive atmosphere that these changes have created.
